NUN ROCK TOMBS

Nun Rock Tombs are located around  Kon acık village where is on direction of Işıklı village on the 12th km (7,5 miles) from Uluçınar (Arsuz). There are many imposing tombs that was determined belong to 5th Rome period in the excavation was done in this region. It was come out that the tombs belong to the nuns from the figures on them. The sole of the mosaic where is being almost next to tombs supposed to be belong to the church.

SUTUNLU PORT

The ruins of an ancient port city has been taken part in Konacık village coast where is aproximate 10 km (6,25 miles) on the South of Uluçınar (Arsuz). These ruins has remained from Helenistik period.

ST. HANNA CHURCH

Many monk and bishop lived in Arsuz and around to spread Prophet Jesus’s doctrine in the beginning of the Christianity. One of them was St.Hanna who get a church built in Uluçınar (Arsuz). This church is still used, which is called with its founder and located in the centrum of Arsuz. There are many icon in the church when was reconstructed in 1514 and so much voluable 2 printing pictures  were remaining from 1600 years made on cloth. These pictures have been still  exhibited in St.Hanna church.

THE VIRGIN MARY’S POOL

It’s believed that Virgin Marry had bath in the pool which is reached after 8 km (5 miles) passed Hacıahmetli village. It’s known as a holy place by the Christians. Especially the Orthodoxs celebrate the 14th of Aughust that is the last day of the diet devoted for Virgin Marry, with big celebrations. According to be rumoured  Virgin Marry had passed from this region and washed in this pool. After that when a peasant woman saw Virgin Marry washing, she went in too.

But as the woman went in after Virgin Marry caused the lake to get dry. The folk who saw the water was completely cut, they come together and start praying. Two separate water  in a wrist thickness begin to flow through the rocks at th end of the prays. As the God’s wisdom one of the water cold and the other one is warm. It’s said that the warm water symbolize the sin and the cold water for the holiness. It’s known by the folk living around that the hardness degree of the  water flowing here is extraordinary good and curative.

PORTAUX COLONNES ( SÜTUNLU KOY )

Sutunlu Koy is a ruin where is about 8 km (5 miles) from Arsuz on the South and on the west of its old name Kesrik and new name is Konacık village on the coast. The ancient city which was established around a little bay protected from the storms that is formed of the sea, covered approximately 20.000 square.
